I've been reading sooo many inspiring blogs about photography for such a long time now... So I decided to try my hand at it... Let me know what you think!
(These two photos (the one above & below) are taken at a family function.)

Just a little something...
at 7:41 PM
10-Aug-2009
Yesterday, I went out for a walk in the city. The place I live in is very crowded and... you know, sort of - bustling. And I love to walk around in the crowd, look at people, shops, cars... Anyway, so I went quite far and shopped a bit... And then decided that I was too tired to go back walking... So I started to look around for a rickshaw (the Indian 'cabs' or 3-wheeler thingys)... and suddenly realised that it was their strike!
Now, I was in a jam for the following reasons:
1) Public transportation, like buses, in India sucks. You should not attempt such a thing unless you are, broke, below poverty line, love to get viral diseases, love the smell of sweat, dust, paan, tobacco… etc.
2) I was left limited cash (due to my shopping).
3) Could not call father to pick me up or something, because, obviously, would get yelled, screamed & abused at for “…doing such horrible things & setting a bad example for my siblings…” Blah, blah, blah.
4) Could not use public transportation because of the Swine/H1N1 flu scare (My city being the most affected city in India).
So I tried to hail a few errant rickshaws, which were running despite the strike, but they were asking for outrageous amounts like 100-150 bucks, where generally it costs you around 27-30 bucks for that distance! Besides, I did not have 100 bucks!
The only option I was left with was, to walk home. It was almost dark, & I was too tired. Disheartened, I started to walk homewards. Suddenly I saw a rickshaw standing idle around the corner. I hurried there, and asked if it was available.
He said, "Come and sit inside madam"
I duly sat. Then I noticed that he had not started his (fare) meter.
I asked, "Won't you start the meter?"
He said, "No madam, I can't do that! If someone saw that the meter was on, I'd be in trouble!"
I was thinking oh, so that's why he asked me to sit first... he wants to cheat me!
I asked warily, "How much will you charge?"
He said, "The general charges madam, approximately 30 bucks"
I did not believe my ears!
The driver was a sweet guy, who chatted with me politely all the way home. I was so grateful! He saved me from a sticky situation indeed! Anyhoo, I paid him 50 bucks, of my own free will, and wished him good night. His smile at that time, truly warmed me...
I did feel good after that. Kind people should always be encouraged... It makes them feel that someone is appreciating their efforts.
And I did my one little bit yesterday.

Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where’s the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?
Isn’t there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need
I need a hero
I'm holding out for at hero 'till the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero 'till the morning light
He’s gotta be sure
And it’s gotta be soon
And he’s gotta be larger than life
Larger than life
Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasy
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There’s someone reaching back for me
Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat
It’s gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet
I need a hero...
Up where the mountains meet the heavens above
Out where the lightning splits the sea
I could swear there is someone somewhere
Watching me
Through the wind and the chill and the rain
And the storm and the flood
I can feel his approach
Like a fire in my blood
I need a hero...

Just a song in my head...
at 4:23 PM
I have been humming this particular song all day today... Its from the Twilight Soundtrack, called as the Flightless Bird, American Mouth...by...I don't know whom... But anyhoo, don't you guys think that the lyrics are rather bizzare? Seriously, I can neither make head nor tail of it! Am I the only one????
Spent the afternoon (so far) in watching movies (Austin Powers) and eating puffed rice... Mmmm... This is my idea of 'chilling out'. Too sleepy to read, go out or do something productive. See, this is what happens if you wake me up early. Especially when I've slept for three-and-a-half hours. Only.
Just watching the preview of Sherlock Holmes. Looks nice, but rather too creepy. I mean, the real Holmes isn't creepy at all...no, just, you know, bizzare.
You guys check it out too, here.
Wish you all a nice, equally lazy weekend!

"I'm just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I don't know where to go I can't do it alone I've tried
And I don't know why
Slow it down
Make it stop
Or else my heart is going to pop
'Cause it's too much
Yeah, it's a lot
To be something I'm not
I'm a fool
Out of love
'Cause I just can't get enough
I'm just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I don't know where to go I can't do it alone I've tried
And I don't know why
I'm just a little girl lost in the moment
I'm so scared but I don't show it
I can't figure it out
It's bringing me down I know
I've got to let it go
And just enjoy the show
The sun is hot
In the sky
Just like a giant spotlight
The people follow the sign
And synchronize in time
It's a joke
Nobody knows
They've got a ticket to that show
Yeah
I'm just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I dont know where to go I can't do it alone I've tried
And I don't know why
I'm just a little girl lost in the moment
I'm so scared but I don't show it
I can't figure it out
It's bringing me down I know
I've got to let it go
And just enjoy the show
Just enjoy the show

dum de dum
dudum de dum
Just enjoy the show
dum de dum
dudum de dum
Just enjoy the show
I want my money back
I want my money back
I want my money back
Just enjoy the show
I want my money back
I want my money back
I want my money back
Just enjoy the show"
